Best Beginnings: Baby & Me is a non-profit program operated through the Cranberry Portage Child/Family Resource Center Inc. It is jointly funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada and Healthy Child Manitoba. We focus on providing information, support and nutritional counselling to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women, new mothers and babies and their families facing challenging life circumstances.
The program is offered in 4 communities, (The Pas, Cranberry Portage, Flin Flon & Creighton/Denare Beach), and is funded by the Canadian Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) through the Public Health Agency of Canada. Our three Manitoba sites also receive funding from Healthy Child Manitoba, which enables us to offer ongoing support to women throughout their pregnancies and until their babies are one year of age. We also offer milk & egg coupons and other nutritional supplements and counseling by a Registered Dietitian to participants.
